For each topic we learn, I ask children to bring some images related to it. It can be a picture they draw and colour themselves, a cut-out from a store catalogue, a photo, a sticker… any kind of image really.
Then they go sticking it to a big sheet of paper, sometimes organizing the pictures in a certain way. The final result is a kind of a poster that decorates the classroom and helps them remember the new vocabulary every day, even if it’s not English-class-day.
It’s a great way to involve parents and also kids get to play an active part in their own learning process. Works best with 5 year-old, 4 year-olds may be responsive as well.
